Rautsiala is well-versed in drama, comedy, improvisation and musical theatre. The new SARA-polylogue has been a great success! Her most notable roles include the main roles in the Niskavuori series, Velma in the musical Chicago, the leading lady in the musical Minna (based on the life of the Finnish author Minna Canth), Frida Kahlo in Frida (a multidisciplinary drama based on the artist's life) and the huge role of coloratura soprano Mrs Florence Foster Jenkins.

She has performed in different productions for  three Finnish tv-channels. The small debute for long film was Mikko Mäkelä's A Moment in the Reeds, premiere in BFI London Film Festival 2017.

Virpi has also worked as a hospital clown, a director, a writer and a coach. Over ten years she has been a part-time teacher in Emergency Services Academy in Finland.

Right now she lives in Eastern Finland, Kuopio. Her biggest role of all is being a mother for two gorgeous daughters. She enjoys Finnish nature, different kinds of ballgames and the speed of motorbikes.
